Mountain tourism in Albania has already become a consolidated reality. The "Universe " of the Albanian mountains is already a magnet that attracts foreign tourists, as well as an extraordinary advertising tool. In this limelight, in 2019 there was built the touristic resort Vila Sofia,in Gllava by.the Barjami family; this resort is found in the altitudes of Tepelena, in the village of Gllava, 40km away from the 2 UNESCO cities Berat and Gjirokastra. This resort, located in 900m of food, in addition to the fresh air it also offers typical village food such as the well-known meat and raki, and bio dairy products. Accommodation is pretty modern but still it has the Olympic tranquility of the mountain. Within a radius of 15km from the location of the villa you can find historical and natural values. Gigova and Dërrasa waterfalls, the natural monument of Shkëmbi Bardhë (recently published in Homeland II), the lakes of Komar and Buz and the great spring of Gllava. In the fund of these postcards you can climb to 1,300m at the top of Cuka of Gllava where you can see some of the treasures of Albania in the palm of your hand such as: Sazani, Tomorr, Vlora, Karaburun, Gjirokastra and Berat. Amidst this nature with rocks, stones, and water trees speak the remaining signs from the history of Albania where the Captain Tafil Buzi led the anti-Ottoman uprisings in the 19th century, the son of this land at the three Italo-Greek war whose traces are found in some objects in Gllava. And then the Gigova Bridge of the 16th century, with bunkers and tunnels with magnificent but "dumb" gates of the last communist decades, part with the cult objects of the 19th century. In the suburbs of this resort you can find a few rural areas and few rural inhabitants. In the streets and forests you can see wolves, foxes and rabbits, somewhat more bears and deer.
