Sveti Stefan’s external ambience is reminiscent of medieval times. The internals of the structures, however, that occupy this little island have been exquisitely revamped. World-class designs and 5-star standards are second to none, catering for even the most elite of visitors, including some historic and well-known names such as Elizabeth Taylor, Karla Bruni, Sylvester Stallone, Sofia Loren, Claudia Schiffer, Jeremy Irons, English princess Margaret, Novak Djokovic, the last Italian King Umberto II Savoy, as well as royal members of the Serbian dynasty Karadjordjevic.

During her visit to the island, the iconic Italian film star Sofia Loren exclaimed:

“It’s just as if I have returned to the town from the most beautiful fairy tale of my childhood”.

The island itself is now wholly taken over by the luxurious Aman resort. Whilst it is definitely one of the finest places for a stopover, it is certainly not the only place. If you’re looking for something more affordable – you’ll find plenty of other locations nearby. In fact, many people would claim that it is better to stay in the neighbouring newer town, as then the island is your view…
