Cleaning Guidelines

what you need to know about the new hygiene standards...

Cleanliness has always been one of the most important aspects of delivering comfortable and quality accommodation for the tourism industry. It is now, more than ever, the most critical topic for Hosts to manage and address.

At BalkanBeds, we are committed to providing Guests with a comfortable and hygienic environment that they can make themselves feel at home in, as well as providing our Hosts with the necessary tools and guidelines needed to ensure that both parties are kept safe.

We’ve prepared the following cleaning guidelines that highlight the new protocols and safety standards that all Hosts should follow in order to ensure that their Guests are met with a clean, safe and accommodating environment during their stay:

cleaning guidelines

1.

Ventilate rooms before cleaning – open your doors and windows and let the fresh air in!

2.

Wear disposable gloves and protective gear whilst you clean.

3.

Clean and disinfect. Just to be clear, cleaning is not the same thing as disinfecting. Cleaning entails using soaps and water to remove dirt and germs from surfaces. Disinfecting, on the other hand, works by using chemicals and products such as bleach and other germ-killing solutions that contain an alcohol-based concentrate.

Cleaning solutions with diluted household bleach or at least 70% alcohol are believed to be effective against killing most bacteria, including the coronavirus.

4.

Wash all bed sheets, towels and linens on the highest heat setting allowed by the manufacturer. This will help kill off any bacteria and viruses that might be present on the fabrics.

5.

Wash hands thoroughly before and after cleaning. It is recommended to wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds to remove any bacteria and germs.

6.

Where possible, provide guests with a hand sanitiser, soap, paper towels, tissues and toilet paper. Simple necessities that help promote good hygiene.

7.

Leave a 24-hour window between bookings to help minimise the risk of any airborne particles. Otherwise, use a high-grade spray disinfectant to help neutralise any unwanted surface or airborne particles.
